Napoleon's Marshals, Ranked (All Parts)
In 1804 Napoleon created 18 'Marshals of the Empire', to serve as the senior officers of the Grande Armée. He created a further 8 before his abdication in 1814. A few were aristocrats, but others were the sons of shopkeepers or tailors. The most favoured became princes and kings. Among their ranks were legendary figures such as Marshals Lannes, Ney, Soult, Davout and Masséna, but also less well know figures like Pérignon, Brune and Moncey. Our series explores the lives of all 26 Marshals, and ranks them according to our own judgement of their achievements as Marshals.

Within weeks, he had turned his ragged, demoralised troops into a ferocious fighting force, defeating the Austrians and knocking Piedmont out of the war. With success, Napoleon began to believe it was his destiny t...

The French did even worse things to their own people during the French Revolution. Worst of all, the French Canadians in the province of Quebec forced the rest of us English speaking Canadians in the rest of Canada to learn the French language in school!😮

Your video is incorrect when it says the golden age of Islam started with the abbasids and ended with the Abbasids if anything the golden age started around 630-632 and ended around WWI or the earliest being the 1800s as a golden age if we define it is when an empire or state or people see an era of prosperity and dominance well that’s what it was for the Islamic world from 632-17-1800s maybe even up to WWI the Islamic world was the dominate world super power it and different empires that kept the Islamic world flourishing when Baghdad was sacked the new center of education and knowledge and Islamic power and prestige was mamluk Egypt and Cairo or Delhi in the Delhi sultanates and even during tamer lanes conquests there were Islamic empires that continued to prosper like the northwest African empires like the Mali and Sanghai empires and we can’t forget the gun powered empires the ottomans and Mughals and Safavids,

Napoleon was so successful because he realized the least “exciting” parts of war are the most important, namely logistics.

Arabs in the comments are so funny😂😂😂. A large part of those dynasties' successes is due to their being multicultural and following the ways of the empires before it. It's not just about being "Arab" or "Muslim". Grow up.

Some misconceptions in this video. The Entente was not a binding alliance neither. Nor was it necessary that Germany went on to declaring war to Russia. Also, There is no mention of the secret alliance btw Serbia and Russia which led to the assassination in the first place. There was lots of stuff going on. But those points are nonetheless important to get it right in order to understand how it could even happen. That is something, that nowadays are more than likely to not happen again in - at least - our western democratic countries. WWI is the exact thing that happens if you let your military take control of the political terrain. Diplomacy couldn't even move anymore once Schlieffen Plan and Plan XVII took the upper hand and everyone thought the war would be over in a couple of weeks.
